Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O’Brien TD said: “It’s brilliant to see Clúid Housing and Wexford County Council working together on schemes such as Barr An Aird. We’re here today to welcome 67 families into their new homes. Housing for All continues to deliver for the people of Wexford, and we’ll see delivery right up to the end of the year.
“The current environment is undoubtedly having an impact and is certainly more challenging than it was pre-2020 but there is still excellent work being done by Approved Housing Bodies like Clúid. We’ve a robust plan in place and will continue to work with our partners across local authorities and housing bodies to delivery on the targets.”
Speaking during today’s visit to the Barr An Aird scheme, Clúid Housing’s Senior Supply Manager, James O’Halloran commented: “We are delighted to welcome Minister O’Brien to this new development here in Coolcotts. Despite the challenges we’ve all faced over the past three years, we’re proud to see this scheme completed and have accepted it into management. These 67 new homes will be of the highest quality with A2 BERs that support the creation of greener communities, and more energy efficient homes. For our residents, that means a better quality of life and lower fuel bills.
“We couldn’t have done it without the support of the local councillors, Wexford County Council, Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, the Housing Agency, the Housing Finance Agency and Bawn Developments. Most of the families have already received their keys or moved in and we wish them the very best in their new homes.”
