Clúid Housing is proud to offer 46 Discounted Rent apartments for local key workers at Google’s Bolands Mills Quarter.

There are 35 two-bedroom apartments, 10 three-bedroom apartments, and one large three-bedroom apartment. The 46 homes will be in an existing refurbished building and a newly constructed building within Google’s Bolands Mills Quarter, Barrow Street, Dublin 4.

The rents for Bolands Mills are set at a level that will cover the housing scheme’s lifetime cost of management and maintenance, and the rent represents a significant discount for many residents of the area.

How to Register Your Interest
To apply for our Bolands Mills Discounted Rent properties, you need to be able to prove your eligibility. Click here to view eligibility criteria.
Fill in all required sections of the form in full. Incomplete forms cannot be processed.
If your application is successful, you will be required to provide supporting documentation. Please check the relevant FAQS to view which supporting documents you will need to submit if requested.
Eligibility Criteria

To apply for a Discounted Rent home at Google’s Bolands Mills Quarter, you need to be able to prove the following:

  • The rent does not exceed 35% of your household income. The only exception being if you can demonstrate that you have paid the same rent or higher for the preceding two years.
  • You do not exceed the maximum income limit for the apartment type.
  • Your current household size matches the size of the apartment applied for. All members of the household must be living in Ireland at the time of applying.
  • You have a genuine ‘Local Need’.
  • You are a ‘Key Worker’.
  • You do not own a property.
  • Your household has only entered one application for a specific Discounted Rent property in this scheme.

Local Eligibility

Applicants must demonstrate that they are a key worker with a local need

Local Area:

‘Local Area’ is defined as within a 1.5 km radius of Google’s Bolands Mills Quarter, Barrow St, Dublin 4.

Local Need:

‘Local Need’ is defined as:

  • Any person born in the local area or any person living in the local area for a minimum of 5 years,
    Or
  • Any person whose parents or adult children have been living in the local area for a minimum of five years,
    Or
  • Any person whose primary occupation is within the local area

Key Worker:

A ‘Key Worker’ means an employee who provides a vital service for the local community and wider society, especially in areas of (including but not limited to); public safety, healthcare, education, transport, law and order and infrastructure.

Apartment Suitability

The household size must match the size of the property advertised as per the following:

  • Two-bedroom apartment – suitable for two single adults in a house share, or cohabiting couple/lone parent with one or two children
  • Three-bedroom apartment – suitable for three single adults in a house share, or a couple and two single adults in a house share, or cohabiting couple/lone parent with two to three children
  • Three-bedroom top floor apartment – suitable for three single adults in a house share, or a couple and two single adults in a house share, or cohabiting couple/lone parent with two to four children

Any applicants who wish to share need to make one application as a group.

We will not consider an application that will lead to over or under occupation of a property. Over occupation is where more than two children are occupying one bedroom per household. See further details in the FAQs.
