Funding for Cost Rental Schemes Approved
8th Feb, 2021
Clúid welcomes today’s funding announcement from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage. Clúid submitted proposals for Cost Rental projects earlier in the year and has today received approval from the Department for a number of those schemes.
Fiona Dunkin, Clúid Policy Advisor, commented “The establishment of cost rental housing has been called for by Clúid, alongside many others in the sector, for several years. This new housing tenure will offer a long-term, secure rental option for those who are experiencing housing affordability issues and will contribute to the development of a healthy housing market in Ireland, in line with Clúid’s vision of a society where everyone has a great place to live.
We look forward to working with the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, the Housing Finance Agency, Local Authorities and the Housing Agency in delivering these schemes in 2021.”
