Managing waste and recycling
11th Feb, 2022

Let’s face it, managing our waste and remembering what goes in which bin confuses most of us!

Clúid really wanted to do something to help our residents to manage their waste properly and we are delighted to have received the support of the Regional Waste Management Office who wholly funded the design and supply of fridge waste magnets. The waste magnets were designed with plenty of visual graphics which show clearly what goes into each waste bin. The fridge magnets, which were branded specifically for Clúid residents, were included along with the recent winter edition of the Resident’s Newsletters ‘From House to Home’.

This is a great example of a simple, yet impactful way Clúid are supporting residents to become more environmentally aware and to manage their waste.

Dorothy Seagrave, Clúid resident and member of the National Residents Advisory Group (NRAG) also noticed another consequence of sorting her waste; “The waste magnet is a great way to involve all the family and show which bins to use for our rubbish. There’s now a lot less going in to the black bin, which has the most expensive bin charges. It’s great that we’re saving money along with helping the environment – the kids are particularly pleased about that”!
